Our Recreational Soccer program is about encouraging kids and their love of the game. This is a great opportunity for kids who want to give the sport a try - no matter their age or experience - and find out why it is the most popular sport in world!
The appropriate division will be determined by a child's age as of August 1, 2012. For instance, a child who is 8 as of this date must play in the U9 division.
Practices & Games
Recreational teams will have two team practices per week. The practice day and time will depend on coach and field availability. If you have any practice time conflicts, please note those in the comment sections during the registration process.
All practices are held at H.C. Nesbit Park behind Kensington Elementary School.
Because these teams compete against teams from other associations in Union County, they may be required to travel in the immediate area.
Following are the age groups anticipated for this season:
|Age Bracket||Plays||Periods||Ball Size|
|U9 Co-ed or Girls||8 v 8||Two 25 min halves||4|
|U10 Co-ed or Girls||8 v 8||Two 25 min halves||4|
|U11 / 12 Co-ed or Girls||8 v 8||Two 25 min halves||4|
|U13 / 14 Co-ed or Girls||8 v 8||Two 35 min halves||5|
Each player is required to have a uniform. If your child is a new player or a returning player who needs a larger size, you will be able to order a uniform during the registration process.
Each child will also need shin guards and an appropriately sized soccer ball at each practice and game. Cleats are not required but are highly recommended.
Your fees pay for league and state registration fees, referee fees, equipment, field maintenance and utility costs.
The fee for the Spring 2013 season is $140 for players U9 & above. A uniform is an additional $20 if needed.
Coaches at this level are volunteers. They willingly give of their time and energy to our young players. In return for their efforts they receive our appreciation, memories made with their children and a group of smiling faces. Please consider becoming a coach.
